Elbury Moor Medical Centre is a large, fully computerised
practice (12.500 patients) situated in a Residential area in the
West of the city. We have been a paperless practice for over 10
years. We are a partnership of 4.5 WTE GP Partners (5 Doctors), 2
WTE Salaried Partners (3 doctors) and a GP Registrar. We are a long
established training practice of over 20 years. Dr Thompson is the
trainer, supported by two previous Trainers. WE are also involved in
the education of final year medical students from the University of
Birmingham. Other staff include a Practice Manager, Receptionists,
Secretaries, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants , a Mental
Health Gateway Worker and Counsellor, as well as the usual Primary
Care attached staff from the PCT.
There is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a good sense of
teamwork with weekly educational meetings, and weekly business
meetings.
The practice building was built by Matrix Medical in 2005, a private
company that finance the building of Primary Care premises. They
then lease the building back to GP Partnerships. It includes 15
consulting rooms, dedicated Nursing Facilities, Counselling
facilities as well as a dedicated Minor Operations Suite. Part of
the building is leased by the PCT allowing us to have District
Nurses, Health visitors and other PCT attached staff on site.
We rely upon the Worcestershire OOH Service to cover patient care
outside of the usual working week (8am –630pm Mon – Fri).
We will offer an enthusiastic, well organised training year full of
good experience and support from all the partners and no-one is
distracted from the practice by out-side commitments.
